Our Story

This is the story of Max Free Leads.

I started Max Free Leads in 2007. It has gone through several permutations since it's inception. This version being the latest.

At the time I started Max Free Leads I was involved in a business where I needed lots of leads for people that were interested in the product that I was pitching. The standard mantra for this type of business was to purchase leads from a lead company and cold call them. I hated it, not to mention that I was not very successful at it, nor was anybody else for that matter. I was convinced that the big wigs were keeping secret the real ways they generated their leads because they seemed to be able to recruit oodles of people.

Although I did make some money in this direct marketing business, my heart was not in it. I was not passionate about it. Actually it pretty much sucked from my perspective. However there is one passion that remained with me as kind of a result of my experience with that business, and that is generating leads. No matter what kind of business you are in, you need to have leads. In the Internet world this might be called "traffic". Regardless of what you call it, you need it or your enterprise is dead.

So, I spent the next few years working my 9 to 5, and in my spare time I did research on how to generate your own leads. Well it was not as simple as I had imagined but I did learn a few things. Hopefully I will continue to learn even better things. This site is designed to be a repository of ideas that you can use to generate your own real qualified leads without all the crazy stunts that your leaders tell you to do. I'll be honest, most of it has to do with the Internet, but what doesn't now days.

I know that I was looking for a magic bullet or magic button really, that I could just push and I would have all the free qualified leads that I needed. Well I'm here to tell you that there are millions of "products" out there that you can buy. Heck I have bought a lot of them. Some of them OK, most of them junk, a few of them very good. But there was no magic button. So I banged my head on the wall and continued my research.

Well, I came to a conclusion at some point. This is a conclusion that I have to 're come to' every once in a while as I tend to get distracted in the technical details of understanding exactly how things work. The conclusion is: Get Started!

I spent more time studying how to do things and why to do things a certain way or how to do things a better way that I never did any of those things. I still do it today. I still have to have a perfect site. I still feel compelled to tweak this site and make it better or add some widget that will just put it over the top.

I've had to teach myself that it will never be perfect, but it can be good. I hope that it is at least good at this point and will continue to make it better.

Oh, not that it really matters, my name is Mac. I created this site. The name is kind of a pun. It sounds like "Mac's Free Leads" but really it is based around how to Maximize the amount of Free Leads you can generate for yourself.
